There are currently 59 Chocobo and Falcon Porters available in the FFXIV Free Trial.
A Chocobo Porter is a taxi service in which a chocobo transports you to a specified location. To use the service, speak to a Chocobokeep found within towns. Your journey is completely safe when traveling this way, all mobs will be avoided. It’s possible to dismount the chocobo mid route, however the chocobo will continue on its way without you.
Chocobo Porters become available at Level 10. Before you can use a Chocobo Porter, you must have visited your destination previously. Any NPCs you have not spoken to before will have a marker above their head.
Not enough locations for you? Chocobokeeps offer the ability to rent a chocobo for up to 10 minutes. Unlike the porters, you can take this chocobo wherever you want. Mobs will be hostile and attack now, however. If you dismount, the chocobo will return to its owner. Rental Chocobos are not effected by mount speed increases and can not fly.
Chocobokeeps can rename your personal chocobo, should you not like your original choice.
In some Heavensward locations, the chocobos are called via a Summoning Stone, instead of a keeper. Furthermore, for some Stormblood regions, Falcons are used instead of chocobos.
