Avoid talking about third party tools in-game.
Do not use DPS meters or parses to harass or belittle other players.
When sharing screenshots, be sure to hide your in-game names to be safe.

XIVLauncher

XIVLauncher, also known as FFXIVQuickLauncher, is an alternative to the official game launcher. As the secondary name might imply, it can be a bit faster and more lightweight compared to the original game launcher.

Both Steam players and Windows players can use the launcher. If you’re having any issues with the original launchers, maybe give this one a try. It’s also nice for multiple accounts.

XIVLauncher also supports plugins from other creators. These can vary from useful things like in-game chat bubbles and chat filters, to more silly things. Plugins can be installed and enabled from within the game itself.

ReShade

ReShade is a well known shader tool used for a ton of games. Shaders are visual enhancements to the game, letting you go beyond what the basic in-game graphics allow. You can do things like make the game more colorful, sharpen or blur the image, or change the depth of field. There’s plenty of fun options available. These can improve the overall feel of the game or allow you to take amazing screenshots!

Bard Music Player

Bard Music Player is an automated music player for playing MIDI songs in FFXIV using the Bard’s Performance mode.

Playing songs in performance mode with skill alone can be incredibly challenging. For this reason, lots of people prefer using an automated program to play pre-made songs.

Playing copyrighted songs is against the rules. Do so at your own risk.

ACT / FF Logs

ACT / FFLogs is a tool used to analyze your fights in FFXIV, somewhat like a DPS Meter, but with a bit more information. You can see how you stack up against other players and learn to improve your overall gameplay. Sometimes referred to as a Parse.

ACT is the program you use to record your data. FFLogs is the website you use to upload that information. Use both of these together in combination to track your overall skill in Dungeons, Trials and Raids. Logs can be either Public, Private or Unlisted.

Anamnesis

Anamnesis is the successor to the tool known as Concept Matrix (CMTool). It is a tool to drastically change client-side game values. The main purpose of this tool is to give greater freedom to take more creative and interesting screenshots.

There’s a ton of different features in this program. You can change the time of the day, weather and moon phase. You can change your appearance to different races and genders, or even to NPCs or monsters! Change your equipment and use any emotes. You can even make your own custom poses with this tool.

Reminder that all of these changes are only visible to you. None of these changes will effect the actual world or gameplay. If you’re a fan of taking screenshots, this is a very valuable resource.

TexTools / XIV Mod Archive

Textools is a program that allows you to change in-game textures, models and more. While this program directly edits a few file types, all modifications are client side and are only for aesthetics. This also means no one else will be able to see your amazing new outfits.

XIV Mod Archive is the website where you can actually browse for mods to download. Mods range from HD textures, unique (and lewd) fashion, animations, furniture, minion replacements and more. I highly recommend checking it out, the user made creations are great.
